Kairaamo is an independent publishing house founded in 2022 and based in Finland, specialising in fiction in translation.

We focus on high-quality, thought-provoking literature – fiction that captivates, challenges, and endures. At the heart of our publishing programme lies contemporary Czech literature, which we are proud to introduce to Finnish readers in all its richness and depth.

Kairaamo highlights remarkable literary voices from Central and Eastern Europe, bringing stories that open new perspectives and cross cultural boundaries.

In 2025, our publishing programme takes an exciting new step: alongside translated fiction, we will publish our first novel by a Finnish author in late autumn – marking the beginning of a new chapter in Kairaamo’s story.
